Focus on flu shots for North Charleston
Peak flu season is coming in January and Roper Hospital Diagnostics & ER Northwoods urges people in North Charleston to get their flu shots now. Doctors will be a holding a media availability on Wednesday to debunk flu shot myths that could be holding people back from getting this valuable virus defense.
“It is a safe estimate less than 10 percent of the patients we see in our Northwoods facility say they’ve had a flu shot,” said Roper St. Francis ER Dr. John Walters. “Patients often tell us they don’t want a flu shot because it will make them sick, a myth that has spread too far. Flu shots are easily available, safe and needed for everyone.”
