Volunteer Information

Note:Limited volunteer roles have resumed and opportunities are currently available. Contact the volunteer manager in the facility of interest to discuss available roles. COVID-19 vaccine required.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is blessed with a team of more than 500 active and dedicated healthcare volunteers. If you are energetic, positive and compassionate and available to serve on a continuing basis, consider contacting us about current opportunities. Available positions change frequently, so contact the volunteer coordinator in the facility of your choice to discuss where you might best be of service before completing application paperwork. Because of the processing involved, healthcare volunteering is best suited to applicants available to participate on a regular basis. Although many volunteers come two or three days a week, we ask that you plan to serve a four-hour weekly shift.

2020 Annual Report for Volunteer Services

Teen volunteering

There are limited roles available for youth volunteers and most opportunities are during daytime hours and summer break. The minimum age is 15. Because of the training and orientation process involved, hospitals should not be considered as simply a place to earn short term assigned community service hours. Contact the Volunteer Manager in the facility you are interested in for further information about available positions or for an interview.

Health Exploration Programs:

Applicants interested in health careers are encouraged to explore the variety of SCRUBS mentoring and career exploration programs offered at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Updates on career programs are also posted on the SCRUBS Mentoring Program facebook page.
